Slussen nr 5
Every redevelopment of the area between Gamla Stan and Södermalm in Stockholm has been preceded by endless discussions. Countless visions have been presented, many protests have taken place. At the beginning of the 2000s, the Slussen interchange was one of Stockholm's most debated and difficult-to-start projects, and still in 2014 everything remained at a standstill. Concrete blocks with rusted rebar dangled over cyclists and pedestrians, serving as a strong reminder of the urgent need for renovation. In this book you can see a playful parallel story about the creation of the fifth sluice, where two men showed up from nowhere and started the reconstruction themselves. It is also a documentation of Slussen's physical transformation over the last decade. By the time it's finished, these ten messy years would soon be forgotten without visual memories. And in addition to moving forward, the book also offers a nostalgic journey back in time, with quotations of small moments from various literary works that highlight Slussen's significance throughout history.

Requiem for Slussen
A poetic and dystopian short film depicting the iconic cloverleaf junction of Slussen in Stockholm before it disappeared in the redevelopment. A decayed place where traffic and people were funneled around and around in a pulsating, labyrinthine flow. With a sense of both loss and fascination, the film serves as a visual farewell to a location where time had stopped, despite its constant motion. The film is part of the ten-year long art project “Slussen nr 5”
